SARS stands for Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome. It is A newly found disease in China and it has been spread to Hong Kong and the other countries. It is a contagious disease very similar to cold, so it spreads very quickly and worst of all it is hard for common people to detect. Undoubtedly, Sars has social and economical effects, since it brings death to many patients, fear and mistrust among the population and finally, it reduces travel, both leisure and business, causing revenue losses to many industries.

As for the terrible social effect , Sars brings death to patients and that it make Sars very famous. It is very frightening among people because the majority of the deaths are among senior citizens owing to their deteriorated health. It is very obvious that each death causes tremendous grief to the family and friends. Their deaths might be considered as a big loss to the countries since countries, it can be said that Sars has taken always very import ant human resources from the countries.

Moreover, SARS brings the feelings of fear and mistrust. The death SARS brings causes fear among The population, which can deteriorate their mental health and restrict creativity. Without good mental health and creativity among the population, productivity will be reduced. Failure of governments to control SARS has caused mistrust among the population. The mistrust may affect cooperation between the government and the population and may even cause unrest.

As for the economic effect, the fact that SARS. is contagious causes people to avoid almost all travel areas with SARS. Industries that rely on travel like tourism, airlines, and hotels lost a significant amount of revenue. This causes many people in those industries to loose significant income or may even loose their jobs and become unemployed. Countries that rely on those industries also faces a significant loss of income tax. This may affect the level of service the government can provide to its citizens.
